As I am preparing to go to Uganda I dug deep into the dresses you made for my last mission trip.

I know I mentioned the schools we went to were so large it was hard to give them out.

We are working with a Ugandan nonprofit one of the days. This non profit helps vulnerable women and children. I'll know more about it and be able to share more when I return. All Things Dominican Republic Missions from Humble Quilts

What an amazing trip to DR! it is wonderful to be able to travel again.

I know I shared these photos on Facebook, but many of you are not on that social media so I need to share here. This was the hardest trip to give out dresses and I even brought some home for the next trip! I contemplated not bringing them all but then you know, I would have wished I had them!

Welcome Quiltalong- Almost complete! from Humble Quilts

Wait! These aren't blocks in the Little Quilts pattern booklet! You are correct! Usually when I do a small quiltalong the quilt is complete before I start. This time I'm doing with you! I really wanted to get this top completed before going to Dominican Republic. So, I took a shortcut and used a few orphan blocks that I already had. Welcome Autumn! from Humble Quilts

Driving over the mountain pass to my guild meeting colors are starting to change. We still have plenty of nice weather left, so I don't want to rush it! Either way, we are officially in autumn.

A local friend contacted me recently and asked if I was still collecting pillowcases. I'm not actively seeking them out at this point, but I will never say no. I then contacted my other friend and asked if she'd like to make them into little dresses for my mission trip. Aren't they sweet?! Thank you JoAnne and Laurie!

Pillowcase Dresses and Good Bye August from Humble Quilts

Kathe Howe sent me these adorable dresses for my mission trip! Thank you Kathe!! With the surge in Covid cases it is possible we will reschedule once again. Eventually they will all go to a little girl in need. Blessings to all who have donated in one form or another.

Hubby finally made it out backpacking with me. I brought him to the most epic place! Goat Rocks Wilderness in WA state. I've done this loop before but it was a lot harder this time. (Hubby reminded me I've aged 3 years! Thanks!)

Fun on Friday! from Humble Quilts

Dotti, I saved the claret strips for you but they are still sitting here. Do you still want them?

Everyone who has asked and paid for a block has a block in the mail to them. This turned out to be an international swap! Whoop! Whoop! Canada, Australia, Germany and France all will be participating. I hope the blocks arrive in a reasonable amount of time.

This and That on a Friday! from Humble Quilts

I found this adorable crib size quilt from the 30's-40's in my closet while hunting for the "missing" blocks. It was so charming! I hung it up in my room to consider what I should do with it and admire it up close and personal.

Look at the terrific binding! 2 sides green, 2 sides blue

It has a bit of simple cross hatch quilting through some of the 4 patches.

And then some small ties with thin floss.

It is very lightweight with no batting and very sturdy. I don't understand how the black is stitched ...

It was cancelled last year, then postponed, and I believe we will be going to Dominican Republic in 2022. Quilt Friends are the Best! from Humble Quilts

I had a reproduction personal shopper! Kevin hit the motherload of older reproductions on an outing and when he got home he asked if I was interested in part of his motherload sale! I love a sale and reproductions! Many of these I've had in my stash over the years so it was fun to have more of them.

Thank you Kevin! I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Today is kind of the Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

The good is these amazing dresses were made by Kevin's Scrap club for my mission trip! I love how he has them displayed. Thank you all! I made them a video Thank you but love seeing this photo on my blog.
The bad is I was due to go to MO this month to visit 3 guilds, including Kevin's Scrap Club and we had to cancel. Oh it has been so sad to cross so many things off my calendar, especially this trip!

Pillowcase Dresses from Humble Quilts

I know many of you are bust sewing masks! I love that! Our local hospital called our business today asking if we had masks- we only had a handful of N95 masks and NO corona virus cases in our county. (thank goodness!) we donated what we could in the hopes that they really won't need them for the virus but for other emergencies. I commend you all for sewing masks. If you are in Oregon and am not sure where to donate please contact my friend Christy for information. She heard they need them in Salem.
